New Braunfels library recognition highlights programs for children and teens

New Braunfels Public Library received the 2025 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award, marking its 11th consecutive year of recognition, according to a city announcement issued in February 2026.

The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association award recognizes public-library service. The city reported that 101 of the state’s 516 public library systems received the 2025 honor.

Among the accomplishments cited were distribution of 1,800 Books for Babies bags, creation of a Tween Zone at the Main Branch and the first Teen Advisory Board cohort. The 14-member teen group helped organize a back-to-school dance and two continuing teen programs.

These figures describe the library’s 2025 work rather than current enrollment or attendance. They offer a useful introduction to the range of services beyond borrowing books.

Families exploring the library now should consult its current calendar for age groups, dates and registration requirements. The city announcement links directly to the library’s services and programs.
